New Year Smiles
I spent New Years Eve with my dear friend Tabitha, it was lovely to chill with her in her cute new home. We had a lovely meal and watched a movie early in the evening, then as the clock got closer to midnight we went over to her mom and dads house, where there was lots of lovely people and fireworks!
It was a great end to 2017. Thank you to the lovely Fung family for a great time.
Let me just start with a big WHOOOOPA!
I’ve seen the talented superstar a few times now, a couple of Glastonbury shin digs and also at Moseley Folk Festival in 2011. That was so much fun!!! He’s such a lovely, humble gent too.
Here he is in between the two drunk tigers, Paul Geary and myself. Such a great little festival that was!
I remember a time when I could sing along to ALL of these words. Although the odd word here and there were made up, fill ins, I would continue to chant away this song with lovely friends.
I was over the moon when my darling “Aunty” Mary sold a ticket to me. After she had bought them for her hubby Midz and he bought 2 for her too! Doh. The pair of love birds know each other so well. And I’m very grateful for this mistake, as it gave me the opportunity to buy a ticket from them. Yippeeee.
It will be such a fun gig! My best friends Alice and Paddy are going too! I’ll be a sensible sober friend with Alice and be the allocated chauffeur as she’s pregnant and Paddy will want to have a drink I’m sure. I don’t want to forget this gig, so Beck’s Blue for me and Alice!

It is such a shame my darling can’t come to the gig. He’ll be busy running up the rock instead!
Now, I haven’t set New Years resolutions, but I’ve taken on a new frame of mind. Fairly new frame. I guess I kind of always had the thought of not dwelling on the present too much.
But now my boyfriend is being placed overseas with work for a long time. I think I’m going to need to be more diligent with this frame of mind. It helps calm me down and not dwell too much on present issues. eg. leg loss.
All “issues” pass after time, so why waste time pondering and filling your mind with negative thoughts? It’s such a waste of time and a sad waste of what could be happiness.
Try not to dwell on things that don’t make you happy people! It’s a battle you won’t win unfortunately. And happiness is such an easy feeling to gain!!! When you put your mind to it.
Of course in awful times, such as the loss of a loved one or a negative situation/argument with a friend, it may take a while to gain your happiness. I understand that. But I don’t understand why people unnecessarily hold on to such feelings?
Surely no one wants to be sad?! Everyone wants to be happy right? So just do it. It’s that simple. (for most human beings)
In the words of René “Cogito ergo sum” – I think therefore I am.
Think happiness and be happiness!
Although my love is leaving for potentially a 3 YEAR post in Gibraltar, I’ve had a lovely few weeks in January with him. We might as well have a lovely time before he goes. Plus he’s good at cleaning, so I’ve made the most of him while I can with my hoover.
Starting the New Year in my new pad has had many stresses, as you can imagine, but all in all it’s been totally wonderful!
I have many plans for the place, hoping IKEA will be able to help me out with utilising the small storage space, along with my physical and mental struggles. I’m the perfect PR candidate for them. Surely?
Everything NEEDS to be well organised so I don’t forget where things are. IKEA please save me!!!
I was recently emailed by an American company that wanted to use my blog space for some of their marketing. I know lots of blogs do this and they make a bit of extra cash from it too. So I jumped at the opportunity and offered space at a low cost. I haven’t heard back from them yet, but fingers crossed….
I could really dedicate more time to this social platform and start advertising business on my page too. I have no idea where to start with this so I’m going to read up on it a bit more, and start adding posts highlighting brands who may like to share things to my audience of readers.
If you’d like me to share your products/services, I will kindly do so, and with a relatively affordable cost. If you know anyone out there who would like to take this offer on, do pass them my email address email@example.com
Extra income from my blog would be a great addition for me and my many bills!
IKEA if you’re reading this, you can have this one as a freebie 😉
My friend from work, who I’m sure I’ve mentioned before in here, ever so kindly offered to take me up in his plane for a little fun trip!
I was so excited when he told me. I could really really really do with this extra happiness too. I have had a sorrowful few days here and there (normally around my time of the month when it’s almost impossible to smile! I never write a blog post when I’ve got the painters in.
It can be hard to write about things that have made me smile when I don’t feel like smiling myself – (Men have such an easier life!!!)
Anyway, with the sad reality of Mike leaving for his Gibraltar post, as if by magic, Adam came to see me to offer a flight!
I love watching Adams videos from his Vlog page, to see and subscribe to his video posts CLICK HERE
If you keep an eye on his posts you’ll soon see a clip of me up in the sky smiling away! Eeeeeeek I’m so excited! I cannot wait! Thank you so much Adam!!!
